QRA: KAELEN OHM

TRIPPING OUT
RA went deep with musician, actor, and dreamer Kaelen Ohm
Shot on Location in Mexico in RA Holiday 19 + PRESPRING 20

RA: Favorite number?
KO: 3 (and 2/22, my old jersey numbers in high school)

RA: Where’s home?
KO: Wherever I am. Wherever my practice is.
I’ve been living out of suitcases the past fifteen months.
Last week it was Mexico, right now New York, next week Israel for three months for work.
I’ll likely find a little sanctuary for myself somewhere in the world this year.

RA: Do you believe in luck?
KO: I believe in synchronicity.
RA: Do you close your eyes when you dance?
KO: Yes
RA: What’s your favorite color?
KO: high desert sunset, the ocean, a lover’s eyes, rain on dust, music

RA: What are you reading?
KO: “How to Change Your Mind” by Michael Pollan
“The Inconvenient Indian” by Thomas King
and Re-reading “Women Who Run With The Wolves” by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés

RA: Who do you love?
KO: everything. Is everything, is everyone, is everything...
a practice in grace. I trip sometimes.

RA: What’s on your playlist?
KO: Mostly ambient these days -
Brambles, Chihei Hatakeyama, The Dead Texan, Julianna Barwick, Otto Totland, Jonathan Thayer, Grouper. A lot of Afro-Cuban music from the 70s. Lea Thomas (listen to her new record “Blue of Distance), Yves Jarvis, Onra, Kelsey Lu, Coubo, Billie Eilish, Grimes. Always Thom Yorke, Radiohead, Warpaint, Frank Ocean, Thee Oh Sees, Wild Nothing, Women, Kurt Vile, Jónsi & Alex... I could go on...

RA: Planes, trains, or automobiles?
KO: All of the above. And often. Feet on the ground whenever possible.

RA: How do you breathe?
KO: However the quality of my mind at the time.
